Seasonal Culinary Retail Associate (Holiday 2025)

Position Summary

Mixed Pantry is looking for a Seasonal Culinary Retail Associate to join our team during the busy holiday season. This role runs every weekend from November 22, 2025 through December 31, 2025, with about 15 hours per week. The position focuses on running the register, keeping the store stocked and organized, and ensuring customers have a welcoming and smooth shopping experience. We’re looking for someone who loves food, enjoys home cooking, and is excited about being part of a small, community-focused specialty store.

Duties & Accountabilities

  • Customer Service: Greet customers warmly, ring up purchases using the POS system, and provide friendly assistance.
  • Inventory & Restocking: Keep shelves full and organized; track stock and replenish as needed.
  • Store Maintenance: Help maintain a clean, organized, and inviting store environment.
  • Food Awareness: Be familiar with common allergens and dietary restrictions, and help customers navigate products safely.
  • Team Support: Work collaboratively with other staff and pitch in where needed to keep operations running smoothly.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Availability every weekend from November 22, 2025 through December 28, 2025 (post-Thanksgiving through year-end).
  • ~15 hours per week (weekends only).
  • At least 1 year of service, retail, or customer-facing industry experience.
  • Passion for food and cooking at home; interest in consumer packaged goods (CPG) brands is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with common allergens and dietary restrictions.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Comfort using a POS system and basic apps (scheduling, communication).
  • Reliable, professional, and excited to represent Mixed Pantry during a busy season.
  • Maintain an active Washington State Food Handler’s Permit

Compensation

$21/hour, paid bi-weekly.

Opportunity for Growth

If things go well, there’s a possibility to transition into a longer-term part-time role (up to ~20 hours/week) after the seasonal period ends.
